I should add that Monk's has about 300 beers or so in bottles.  They don't mention that on their website, that I could see.

Smackette lived in Philly for four years and would agree.  We've never had a trip back to Philly that didn't include a stop at Monks.  Great place.

I went last weekend.
Right now the Mutter is featuring a Ben Franklin themed exhibit, along with their regular oddities area.

If you want to drop lots of money, you can go to Iron Chef Morimoto's place.  Called Morimoto.  It is on Chestnut.
 Sushi and other goodies.

Amada, also on Chestnut for Tapas. (again expensive)

There is a place called Fork right on Market between 4th and 5th that is good for Brunch.

I do not think Philly is boring at all.
They have better record shopping than DC.

If you're into cuban food, check out Mixto.  Very yummy.

There's also the Rodin museum.  It's within walking distance of the Philadelphia Museum.  It's a nice little museum.

Also, the Mutter Museum.  I still haven't been there, but have been meaning to go for quite sometime.

^^listen to this girl^^

monk's was one of my favorite spots. and there's nothing better than good cuban food.

not sure if it's still around (or if you're into jazz clubs at all), but Ortlieb's (4th & poplar? somewhere in northern liberties area) is another great spot.

You can get just as good of a Cheesesteak elsewhere, so waiting in line at Pat's is kind of overrated.

Support local music stores and head to Space Boy Records.
I like to visit Manayunk too when I'm there.

You guys are thinking of Jim's on South Street - Pat's is in South Philly at 9th and Passyunk.  Jim's is actually a really good cheesteak, I'd wait in line for that as opposed to going to Pat's or Geno's.  But if you have a car and want the best cheesesteak, head up to Roxborough and go to Dallesandro's on Henry Ave.

I'm glad you went to Monks!  It's one of my favorite bars in the US.

I'm going to be there this weekend.  If anyone knows of good record stores that sell vinyl hook me up with the names.

If one of the record stores have any albums by The Fall I'll buy the person who recommended the place an ice cream cone.
