Trash Can Sinatras Return

 ***weightlifting album to be released by spinART records in north
 america on august
 31***
 there will be 2 versions of the album:
 1. a 12 track release
 2. a deluxe edition, which is a limited quantity pressing including 2
 extra acoustic tracks, a 5
 track dvd from the band's appearance on kcrw's morning becomes eclectic
 in march
 (different form the webcam version) and autographed, numbered booklets.
 
 both versions of the cd should be available for pre-order at
 trashcansinatras.com by the end
 of this weekend.  however note that the deluxe cd/dvd sold through the
 website likely will
 not be autographed, those versions will appear in record shops.

 sept 28 - minneapolis, mn - fine line
 oct 1 - seattle, wa - crocodile cafe
 oct 2 - portland, or - dante's
 oct 4 - sacramento, ca - harlow's
 oct 5 - san francisco, ca - slim's
 oct 8 - los angeles, ca - troubadour
 oct 10 - san diego, ca - cane's bar & grill
 oct 11 - tempe, az marquee theater

Great band.  If you haven't heard them, you are really missing out, especially if you dig that Smiths-inspired melancholy jangle sound...

the sinatras have already sold out one of the la dates with little to no promotion...  pretty amazing for a bands whose last us release came out in 1993 and last uk release was in 1996

Where they even that popular back in the day? I really dont remember them having much of an impact on me at all.

ahhh, the trashcan sinatras. . .saw them do a free show with mighty mighty bosstones and a solo performance by thom yorke in 1992 - at least i think it was 92, could have been 93.

i saw them support ian mcnabb in the mid 90s and they were effing shite,crap music,crap show, thankfully mcnabb was brilliant.

I don't think they were very popular -- they're my 'genre,' but I didn't know of them much nor did my jangle buds.  Of course, there are always a few bands that just fall under one person's radar.  I've certainly heard of them, but they didn't seem to raise a big hew.  I'm interested in checking them out...
