Grandaddy at the 9:30
« on: July 12, 2003, 05:47:00 pm »
Not sure if this has already been discussed, but I just read that Grandaddy might be playing at the 9:30 on October 2. I hope it is more than just a rumor.

That would be great. They're playing in Boston and Philadelphia in early August, if you're able to travel. "Sumday" has been in frequent rotation over the past couple of months for me.

The Super Furry Animals are supposedly the tour openers.  Ticketmaster already has a couple shows up.

By the way, the more I listen to Sumday, the more I like it.

For disappointing albums after some amazing previous work, I still think the latest album by the Flaming Lips is THE disappointment of 2002-2003.

Yoshimi wasn't THAT bad.  Fight Test Ep on the other hand......  After listening to Sumday for a month I finally put in Sophtware Slump this weekend and had a whole new appreciation.  Not that I dislike Sumday, but Sophtware has a completely different affect on me.

ok, yoshimi was that bad (except for 2 songs).

btw, according to the grandaddy pre-sale website listing, october 2 is the correct date for the 930 show, and tickets are on there for $15 plus $4 service charge a ticket.

Well at least they have the lineup the right way around.  I'm so damn tired of Gdaddy opening for every band under the sun.  Plus SFA have been rocketing downhill with each album after Guerilla.

Those being my initials.  It was just the first email address I could get with hotmail, and out of further lazyness became my screen name on this and other boards so I had less to remember.  If i had more time I would have come up with something better.

And for the record I still love Grandaddy and SFA, both the now albums are slooooowly growing on me, and aren't without some good songs.  I just feel they're both off their game right now.
