KICK ASS...I cannot believe how many of my favorite bands I've been able to see this year. If I can get tickets for PJ, this is really going to be one of the best years in memory for concerts. Awesome!!!

I know...not to mention all the other shows I want to see. If I get tickets for the DC shows, that means I will be seeing the Pixies 6 more times before the end of the year.

arrrghhhh...i have to be at the warehouse on 10/13 for wives (who kick ass). pj harvey puts on one of the best live shows i've ever seen...i'm hoping to step away from the warehouse to catch some of pj's set.

i don't know if anyone cares, but diamanda galas is at the lisner on 10/14...which is the same day as mission of burma at the black cat and laura cantrell at the iota. all three are shows that i want to see badly.

october is always the best month to see shows. the warehouse schedule is pretty solid, too.

 10/5: frog eyes
10/6: gogogoairheart/chinese stars (ex-arab on radar, six finger satellite)/year future (GSL, ex-VSS/angel hair/subpoena the past)
 10/9: IQU/zykos
 10/11: bible of the devil/lamont
 10/13: wives/navies/barr
 10/16: bloodthirsty lovers (ex-grifters/dambuilders)
 10/17: oxbow/dixie witch/meatjack/amplified heat/the last vegas (get hip rec.)
 10/19: entrance
10/22-23: the 20 buck spin festival: celebrating DC/MD doom/stoner/heavy psych
10/31: karate/the evens (early halloween show
10/31: wolf eyes (late halloween show)

 and lots more in november...

yeah, wolf eyes on halloween will be something special, i assure you.

the doom/stoner festival will be incredible, if you're into that sort of thing. DC hasn't had a valid festival in a long time, and i put together this event as a celebration of all the fine MD/DC progressive heavy rock since the days of pentagram. the hidden hand and dead meadow were interested but couldn't do it, but i've managed to round up a solid line-up of locals and nationals. i'm waiting for one or two more confirmations. here's a preview of who's playing:

internal void (MD, 3/4 of the current pentagram)
 unorthodox (MD)
 wretched (MD)
war injun (MD, kyle from earthride, JD from internal void)
 the valkyire (VA)
nitroseed (MD, rob from earthride and gary from spirit caravan)
 the wayward (ex-carrion)
beaten back to pure (sludge metal from norfolk, va)
5ive (guitar/drums heavy drone a la earth, from boston)
dragon green (from allentown, pa; epic instrumental doom)
 vog (VA)

Damn, sucks they go on sale tomorrow. Had to pay rent with my last paycheck. Guess it's time to dust off that MS Money installed on my computer. Anyone want to buy a ticket for me and I'll repay ya next Wednesday?  :D
