Latest commercial idiocy

A  new Ore-Ida commercial says that their "golden brown" fries are great because "golden brown is better than brown."

  Guess what song they use?

"Golden brown, texture like sun ..."

The latest commercial that irks me is that one where you can't really quite tell what's being sold.  Andre Agassi's coach is fly fishing and talking.  What the hell is that?  I want one of those, right above the fireplace on the mantle  would be nice.  What the fuck is he selling?  Perhaps he's selling sex-slaves, or something...who knows?

One of the greatest songs ever composed!

Don't care if it's in an ad...let them get some cashola for a 20year+ old piece of work.

Heh - I saw that the other day.  Hope The Stranglers are at least getting paid for it.

Similarly, our cafe at work plays CNN all day.  They came back from a commercial break today with The Cure's "A Forest".

How about "there she goes" being used for a oral contraception...  guess they don't understand the meaning of "coursing through my viens".  it's the sugarsweet version of the song of the song.  it also means that the difficult second La's record will take even longer to surface now the Mavers has even more dosh to "invest" in his health.

and the new ipod ads are really getting annoying seeing as the are insanely loud.. a bit jolting if ya ask me.

"Lust for Life" by the cruise lines.  That is the greatest poor song use.  They cut out the liquor and drugs and hypnotizing chickens lines though.
