Why? [/b]
jadetree/bob Pollard like them.

I have listened to Cursive and it just makes me long for the more melodic better produced Sparta.

I dont really know much of longwave they play one song on WOXY, but it didnt do anything for me.

Read something about them, they sounded interesting. Maybe I'll pick up their new album. [/b]
Well if you don't feel like waiting until September, Secaucus is one of the most criminally underappreciated albums of all time.

Anyone going to the Siren Festival at Coney Island? Will be interesting to see Idlewild... again, though the setting (tens of thousands of festival goers who may not necessarily be there to see them) is a little more familiar to them. Wasn't all that interested, but the weather forecast is for sunny day so figured what the hell. Leaving at 8:00 tonight, hoping to get to Soho before 1:00. See yas

And go see Rhett Miller at the Black Cat. I promise he will give even a big straight guy like you a hard-on.
Okay, okay.  I just got verification from one of my offline music sources that I will love Pernice Bros.  I had to check!  I will now buy.

And alas, I will be in Germany when (the real) Rhett Miller is in D.C.  Always the way....

You see, this is serendipity.  I just last night was talking to a friend who asked if I knew about the Wrens -- he'd read a feature on them in Magnet and they just sounded like cool guys, with a sound we'd probably like.  I had him pick up *my* copy of Magnet, which has "the wrens" written on the back cover, by me, so I'd remember to find out more about them.

 Hmm, so interesting.

Leaving early AM tomorrow.

Was debating it for a while, but the show on Wednesday made my decision for me.

Also looking forward to seeing the Dirtbombs, Radio 4 and !!!

If you want the new Wrens album they are selling a limited edition now at absolutelykosher.com.  I generally trust ggw's musical tastes so just picked it up and damn it if they arent the same label that carries those hard to find Mountain Goats cds I have been looking for.
