Me and the wife bought a new matress last year...I swear it was more difficult than buying a car.  We got it from that shop on 18th st next to ESL.

We got the bed at Crate and Barrell....cost a bit much but gotta keep the wife happy. I had some extra cash from some freelance work so it didn't hurt too bad.

Sonick and I had a few steamy encounters back in the late 90's. Then he got fat, and it was all over from there.

Back in 1997, I bought a mattress and box spring from Mattress Warehouse by the Wheaton Mall.

While I was inside paying, they were outside putting the matresses on top of my Cherokee.

As I was driving back to my house near the Forest Glen Metro, I was concentrating on oncoming traffic heading north on Georgia during rush hour, as I was trying to turn left onto my street.  I made the left hand turn and drove to my driveway.  When I got out of my car, I noticed that there were no matresses on top of my car.

So I doubled back down Georgia and I saw that traffic was badly backed up.  I saw two guys carrying my mattress (still tied together) on to the sidewalk.  I dorve over there to pick up my mattresses and one of the guys who was carrygin them starts screaming at me because the mattresses desroyed the hood of his car when they flew off the top of my car and landed on his.

So I apologized and explained to the guy that it wasn't my fault, and we exchanged numbers and I gave him the number for Matress Warehouse. I called them when I got home and told them that they tied the mattresses together, but failed to tie them to my roof racks. They said "Hey, not our fault" and pointed out a sign in their store that says that the customers is responsible for securing the matresses to the car.  I had a few choice words for them at a volume I didn't know I could reach, let them know that they might want to have their employees read the sign in the future and to call this guy and take care of it.

Of course they didn't, so I call MW headquarters, who were great about it and took care fo the problem.

I can luagh about it now, but the bottom line is, MW OK, MW in Wheaton, not OK.

 Happy shopping.

Yep you are.  ;)

Yes, avoid Mattress Warehouses. The employee I encountered was really nice -- at first. He gave us a price we agreed to, and said 30 day return policy if we didn't like it. So, he brought out his trusty calculator, and when he said, "2 day return policy", I simply questioned it, and he became rude, frustrated and slammed his calculator down. The whole situation seemed sketchy after that. I ended the deal.

Same name stores at different locations will offer different deals. Free delivery & removal is key.  ;)   I too am interested in a good bedframe.
