I don't have to buy an HFStival ticket this year either but that has more to do with good taste then employment locale.

Nooo, not me - I don't quite get it either!  For one reason or another, nearly every other Jewish being I know is obsessed with Matisyahu (including my friend who has always agreed with me on music 100%, and has impeccible taste).  And I told him, "Dude.  You don't have to like him just because we're Jewish...he sucks."  And he didn't get it.  So now, pretty much, we both don't get it.  It's an endless cycle of confusion and bad music.
