Difference between bashing the band and bashing the people who post here.  Sure Radiohead sucks, but I don't call Sonick a stupid loser ass for liking them (JUST an example, sonick, I don't even think RH sucks...much).

By the by, I feel certain that Rhett and Celeste made a conscious decision to lob some grenades today, just for fun.  Celeste hasn't been around in ages but posted a supportive message just minutes after Rhett called someone a juvenile and nasty name... [/b]
Yea, I agree.  And Julian is just loving playing the antagonist.  Usually I don't fall for it and just laugh at these threads, somtimes with both horror and wild amusement.  Today I am bored, most of my clients are out on Fridays, so here I am defending Hanson and newbies.  What did we all do at work before the Internet?

What juvenile, nasty name did I use, dear Nancy Bagster?

My grenade was lobbed at 8:38 PM last night. Celeste didn't chime in until 7:24 AM. That qualifies as way more than "just minutes after".

Look, all I'm saying is this - if you have myself, sonic, rhett, and celeste all on the same side of an issue (in this case: Hanson sucks, and their fans should be mocked openly) how much more of a quorum do you need? Hell, throw the four of us in a room and give us an issue - any issue - and I guarantee we'll find some way to disagree, but on this, perfect harmony. It's not about antagonism, it's about coming together, forming coalitions, being united and saying with one loud voice, "Hanson is for fags and pussies. Holla. Word."

Also, I have the respect not to truncate your name down to "Arl," please show me the same and do not refer to me simpy as "Julian." The name is Julian, faux celeb-porn CONNOISSEUR. I can tolerate the last word not being caps since this is a social setting, and we're all informal here, but a modicum or decorum and respect would be appreciated.

Not nasty as in foul language, but it's pretty nasty to jump on a poster as a fat 25-year old never-been-kissed virgin...  Again, it's the eviscerating the poster personally that is just designed to incite.  Were you not trying to instigate a replay of the "porky midget" debate?

That's patently untrue. I call you "sonic". I don't respect you enough to throw the "k" on there.

Most gay men DO have crappy taste in music. Bearman himself even said as much to me in a PM:

Many gay people (me excluded) dig disco, house, pop, vocal and fluffy stuff...I am more content listening to everything from Belle and Sebastian and Elliott Smith to Queens of the STone Age and Radiohead. And of course Grandaddy.

(The following are MY words, not Bearman's)And as far as gay men never growing up, just take a look at the worship of youth in gay culture, and in popular culture in general (for which gays are largely responsible). Take a look at all of the gay personal ads placed by gay men looking for partners 20 years their junior. Take a look at the rampant promiscuity and drug use in the gay world; signs of boys who have never grown up.

You're right, sorry -- I didn't read the times, just noted that it was only 6 or 7 messages behind yours....Didn't mean to mischaracterize.
