rhett, how come whenever i open a thread and read the initial post, you're always the second post on the thread, totally pissing on whatever it was the initial poster was excited for or mentioning? does it make you feel better or is it some kind of weird obsession?
please try to tone it down, its slightly ridiculous.
personally i'm torn... on the one hand it is predictable and boring. i mean, most of rhett's contributions are "don'ts" - i don't get it, i don't want to go, i don't like it, i don't get how anyone else can like it, etc. maybe being oppositional-defiant is the new mainstream? (that would definitely get him to change his ways :p )
on the other hand, it gets debate going. i just need to remind myself that i'm not going to change his mind, and not take his curmudgeoness seriously. there is no justifying taste.

So should every thread just be a long list of "woohoo, I'm going"? How interesting is that?
as interesting as automatically pissing on everything? :p
"roll call" threads serve two purposes, as far as i can tell: seeing who's going to the show and how excited they are about it, and a place to come back and post reviews, post-concert questions, etc. as the incubus fiasco taught us, one-stop shopping is a good thing. "roll call" threads help keep things neat. i guess it also provides a place to ask "why"...
if i wasn't packing tonight i'd definitely be at the weird al show.
