London Recommendations
« on: October 07, 2004, 02:11:00 pm »
I'm leaving tomorrow for a week in London. I'm staying up near Camden.

I think this is my third time. I've done a lot of the usual suspects already (the Eye, the Tower, Big Ben, etc.) I'm more than little disappointed to be missing a lot of good shows while I'm gone.

I checked Pollstar for London next week, but the pickin's look slim. Very slim. I'll grab a Timeout in the airport.

But...Does anybody know of a good other source for checking on shows over there?

Any show recommendations for next week that you know of?

Anything else brilliant that I just need to do while I'm there?

I can find a concert for everyday....

Spiritualized, Lloyd Cole, Le Tigre, Avril Lavigne, Rod Stewart.

 The Delgados are playing tonight.

I like the new Tate gallery and the walk from it across the millenium bridge to St Pauls.

I'll let you in on a little secret.  The Hard Rock Cafe is sweet.

Hit up the Hard Rock on Tuesday, it's burger night.  Planet Hollywood on Wednesday, it's fish and chips night.

I saw the Delgados scheduled for tonight. That's some horrible timing (for me)

I'll be gone by the Spiritualized/Primal Scream next Saturday. NOW - that's what I'm looking for though.

I could always see Maroon 5 (along with Rod Stewart & Avril Lavigne) - they appear to be playing multiple nights.

Or in the London theatre district you can choose from one of many musicals based on the hits of Abba or Queen.  On my last trip, there were two different Abba-based musicals available

So...based on all the smartass responses -

You either have no ideas, or

There really is nothing to do in London.

I should have just waited until later to ask when Jaguar & Kurosawa would be checking. They're more worldly than you yahoos.    :D
