The only original music today comes from Japan.  The only original movies today come from Japan.

Your post is laughable. I actually find Bull's taste a breath of fresh air on this board of musical conformity.

Or with substance? Jay-Z if you do the hip-hop thing, maybe some AC/DC, White Stripes, REM, U2, (I'm thorwing out random bands here) something. Your taste seems to skewer towards female pop fluff.  (I actually fuck (would like to) with Nelly Furtado myself, and Lily Allen's not bad but the way you pump her up as a borderline pop messiah makes me wonder.)

On that note, based on your taste, check out this old ('96?) album by Luscious Jackson.  The name of it Fever In, Fever Out."  I bet you'll dig it. Peace . . . .

OK so i've taken the director out back to show him the error of his ways, and all he really wanted from Bull was a pepsi.

Since I haven't bought  either the new album from or tickets to  The Shins and Arcade Fire.  Am passing up the Decemberists show, didn't download the Bloc Party, my "tastes" aren't representative enough of this board to drivel any more recommendations Bull's way.

In fact so far this year all I've gotten is the new Sloan, The Good The Bad and the Queen (whose show is only one I'm really excited about for march), the Broken West and am thinking about the new Lucinda Williams.

oh and p.s. Bull checkout early Beth Orton, maybe even some early Depeche Mode.

How is the Broken West album? Need to pick that up if I end up deciding to go to the Long Winters show. I'll pass on the new Lucinda though.

The Broken West CD is good, but not as hard driving and twang accented as the Brokedown EP.  I think the guy that played pedal steel with the band left before it was recorded. It's must more 60s California Folk Pop than "alt-country".  It didn't grab me like the EP did, but with repeated listens it's growing on me.  Word is they rock the songs harder live..

I'm not knocking the cat at all.  My musical taste is far more diverse than you would think/believe.  What I listen to in any given 24-hour period would/may shock you.  He seems QUITE enthusiatic towards Peaches, Ms. Winehouse, & Lily Allen.  I just wanted to get to the bottom of why.  That's all.  Indie hipster seems to be the hat of choice 'round these here parts, so I don't really tend to put my musical taste out there too much.  I perk up when a subject "speaks" to me, per se.

Kosmo, what did The Director do? When did I get the role of the bad guy? LOL

Bull, on another note (you prolly already know about it) check out Blondie.  It's pretty much the blueprint for these artists you seem to dig.  Shoulda been the first artist to pop up in my head.  Early Depeche is definitely for you as well.  Try some Smiths, Joy Division, & New Order as well, fam.  You should dig it. (Assuming you don't fuck with it already . . . )

If you are over 15, please don't use the word "prolly". It sort of invalidates anything else you might say that actually may be meaningful. Thanks!

I will agree with the others by saying listen to anything that you enjoy.  Musical taste is largely subjective.

However, when I look at this list I can help but think that ten years from now you will think back on what you listened to at this point in your life and say, "what the hell did I hear in that".

Is it okay to use "dunno"? I've seen everybody from 8 to 80 use it.
