 That was a great rock'n roll show.  MCD stopped playing and stormed off the stage early in their set because some "friend" of their's was kicked out of the club. [/b]

Murder City Devils were definitely the headliners.  Charlatans had nothing to do with that show.

BRMC played Iota in May 2001 and then opened for Murder City Devils (I think it was labeled as a co-headlining tour, w/ BRMC opening that night at least).  Good show.  Whatever Happened to My Rock and Roll definitely the highlight. Couldn't have been even half full for BRMC.  One of those shows where you can just sort of walk up in front of the stage.  I left before MCD, not realizing it would be a somewhat legendary show.  Looking forward to seeing them in September, assumedly with a packed-house and more hype.

BRMC=Virgin Records. I don't think that's all that "indie".

WHOOPS, I'm getting August and September confused.  But Pernice Bros. and BRMC are on the same night, right?

 Guess I'll keep my trendy indie ass out of Rhett's way (by the way, this rendy indie ass just bought "The Instigator" today). [/b]

god, Rhett, you *are* uptight.  I was responding to your jibe that thankfully the BRMC show will siphon off all the trendy -- okay, you said hipsters, not indie -- from the Pernice Bros.  show.  We need to get rid of some of this literalism on these boards, folks!

At Merriweather...WEATHER being the operative word if I remember, the heavens opened that night, but did the Moz cancel like some band of college puke mummy's boys did? NO! He did get really pissed off at the bouncers though when they started throwing the markies off the stage who were trying to hug and present him with flowers.
