Friedkin directed the French Connection, right? The exorcist was his masterpice though. Unless you loved the TV version of 12 angry men

 another film I had never heard of.
 
 I didnt realise Friedkin directed 12 angry men. It is one of my favourite movies. Its simplicity really lets the characters come through.

Lindsay Anderson directed Richard Harris in this sporting life. A very fine movie. A load of her other films had malcolm mcdowell in......
