And I mention this only because Kevin Dillon's improbable passing of Matt Dillon (thanks to "Entourage") has to be the greatest moment in the history of the Shue Phenomenon ... in fact, Clint Howard would need to direct three consecutive Oscar winners to approach what's happening here."

I heart Piven.  In all things.  But Ari takes the cake. He and Turtle get all the great lines. From the first season when he took his Viagra but then his wife starts walking out on him:

"C'mon, I'm like R. Kelly at recess here!"

 His delivery is great.

The show is smart, funny, well written and acted. It will eventually run its course and fade away, either completely or in interest. For now though it's the funniest show on cable television.

Hate to break this news to you...Roddy McDowell's been dead for years! You are speaking of Ari's boss who is played by "Clockwork Orange" star Malcom McDowell....

yeah dig it dig it...

the playboy mansion episode with Fred Savage and Pauly Shore camoes was ace.

the episode at the comic book convention was hilarious!

the he's aroused bit involving brooke shields.

but Jemery Piven totally makes the show!

has anyone seen the "audition" scenes they have on-demand, where they have other people recreating scenes from the show?  the one with the little old laidies swearing like sailors is priceless..

love it love it.  And I needed it this past Sunday, to get me out of the funk of the last "Six Feet Under."  Both great shows for completely different reasons, but mostly it's about characters you know (or wish you did).

Hug it out, let's hug it out, bitch!!  (An improv by Piven, by the way....)

I'm really going to miss Six Feet Under. I'm glad they did the hour special prior to the last episode, particularly where they said that the random deaths at the beginning of each episode was almost an afterthought. They were very creative in coming up with random ways to die, one of my favorite recurring segments. When's Deadwood coming back?Oh yeah,Entourage is way cool. Turtle getting into the music biz could be a great plot thickening.

Yeah, I don't think Deadwood will be back until late Spring/Summer. It's one of my favorite shows, so the wait always feels like forever. The Wire is a terrific show. I definitely prefer it over Carnivale.

And I like Entourage, too. Hilarious one-liners. I actually went to school with Adrian Grenier. Well, he was only there freshman year and then left. I remember that my roommate had a huge crush on him.

Anyone else looking forward to Rome?

Me too. I cried like a baby Sunday night, re-watched on Monday and the same thing happened. It's the final 15 minutes that gets me.  :(

I'll probably cancel my HBO subscription this week and resubscribe when the "Sopranos" start up again in the spring.

I've tried watching "Entourage," but it didn't really pull me in like other (mostly now-defunct) HBO series. "Rome" looks kinda meh to me.

Claire living to 102 was kind of a shock. Only oversight I thought was that they didn't show what happened to Nate or David's kids. They did a good job of tieing up the rest of the loose ends.

It took a few viewings but now Entourage is on my TIVO. I think it was the Playboy Mansion Slumber Party episode that put me over the top. I always did hate Paulie Shore...
