The Woggles
« on: August 05, 2003, 09:37:00 am »
Need to a show to lift your spirits on a Hump Day (8/6) than head up to Baltimore to The Mojo(TCFKA The Tattoo) and get ready to sweat to  The Woogles.

Long before it became hip to do 60's R&B influenced garage rock there was The Woggles.  Orignially from Athens and now residing in Atlanta, The Woggles have been wowing audiences since the early 90s.

New Jersey garage upstarts The O-Matics start the prespiration early, these guys are a total trip to see.

FYI- The Mojo now has burrittos as big as your head...

I second the plug for the Woggles.  Been around a long time and they never disappoint.  Sadly, Montague passed away this year and I haven't seen them since.  But as long as the Professor is still leading the crew, it's a don't miss show.

The Woggles came, they saw, they sweat and everyone left with a grin on their face.  What great energy, sound and songs.  Although it was a "good" turnout for a Weds night in Balwmer, it's a shame more of those fans of mainstream garage bands weren't there.  It would stand to reason that there are other and better bands beyond those being hyped to death.  Bands like The Woggles, who were here before it became the hip thing to do, will be still be sweating it out in small clubs. While this current wave of bands will be sitting around in a bar bitter about how they were left behind when the next trend hits town.
