There's something wrong with smug little Republicans like yourself sitting in comfort at their computers and finding blame with people who are currently going through hell.
yeah, the media narrative is already being spun in an effort to absolve the authorities and blame the victims

and do we really think if it was 30,000 middle class white people living in their own shit at the Superdome that an evacuation would take 5 days to organize? not likely....

I beg to differ....tickets to Manchester United games have gone up this season    still at least £20 cheaper than it is to see a Chelski or Arseholes game though, so not quite my tsunami!

1) Whether you're a registered Republican or not, in your opinions and outlook, you are Republican.

 2) I'm also sitting in comfort as are all of us, but the important difference is that unlike you I'm not pointing fingers at victims.

I'm not giving away private info. when I say that Dr. Doom is WAYYYY more plugged in to what the hell is going on with disaster relief/politics right now.

I'd say, just as a point of reference, that he knows more than the average "poster" about misery, deprivation, international opinions/attitudes, and the logistics of aid-provision - and tho he might not have a million dollars to give to Katrina relief, he's emailing you from the HEART of the real Tsunami disaster...where he's been for some time.

I'd say his view of our narrow-minded, politics at ALL costs/spin-meister American life right now is right on.  God speed, Dr. Doom.

PS:  Just caught the story on NBC about a the Leesburg VA Sheriff's department deploying SIXTEEN (volunteer) deputies with a caravan loaded with water, food, gasoline, first aid supplies and emergency communications equipment.  They turned around last night and came home.  WHY?  Because FEMA didn't provide the "OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZATION" release.  WTF.  Hope the prez. enjoys his helicopter ride today. The bureaucrats are in control.  God help us ALL!

I've not really posted much before, never really felt the need to bitch about the shitty show the night before or the amazing one that was just announced, but I read this board from time to time.....

Most of you probably don't know me, but many of the long-time 9:30 staff members do. Obvious clue: Chrissy +1.

I just got back from my New Orleans "vacation" yesterday. I weathered the storm a block from the French Quarter, and I've seen much of this first hand, however the situation as gotten much, MUCH worse since we were able to get out on Tuesday.

Heads are going to roll at the highest levels of the government for this mess.....I can safely say that the only reason we were able to get a ride out of town was because we are white. I know this because we were told as much. There are some serious race and class issues at work down south that have led to all this tragedy.

Despite being white, we were still EXTREMELY lucky to get a ride at all. We got out at the last possible minute. Without the guardian angels that got us out, we would probably be sitting in our hotel with no food & water, or be forced to the Superdome which was nearby. I'm not sure which option is worse.

If you have the means, PLEASE donate to the Red Cross, Salvation Army or any other organization that can help. There were a lot of people that I met throughout this ordeal that are probably still there, and they need help desperately. This is not over by any stretch of the imagination. This is an ongoing emergency, and it will take more money and help than we probably know at this point.

Sorry if any of this was a little incoherent. I'm still pretty loopy from the whole nightmare. I'm tellin' you....the stories I have, most would probably not believe....

 Again, please donate.

what's wrong with jeb?  if the voters don't like him, then he's not elected.  that's why we live in a de-moc-ra-cy. . .say it again, this time slower.  anyway, it's common knowledge that george p. is the next in line.

you have no idea how annoying that exclamation point is when you see it constantly through a campaign (bumper stickers, posters, etc)
