Well, it is also Halloween, and a weekend.  Vegas is pretty expensive generally, so those things add to it as well.

schedule now posted at www.vegoose.com under "line-up" (pdf version here).  festival will have three stages, i thought there werer only go to be two.  dang, might be some walking back and forth after all.

QOTSA vs. iggy isn't cool - but have seen the queens twice now and iggy is playing "fun house" in its entirely, so that wins for me.

public enemy vs cypress hill - keepin' the hip hop nation down by dividing it.  sweet.

MIA vs the shins... meh.  or, yeay - break time.

Battles v Gogol Bordello
Queens v Iggy v Thievery Corporation
 Muse v UNKLE

I think I choose Battles, the first hour of Queens, Thievery and Muse...

thievery are playing friday night at the HOB so i'll catch them there, and won't feel as bad about skipping them at the festie  :)   i really want a decent spot for daft punk, willing to skip TC to ensure this.

Nah.  Not even a little bit.  I gotta choose between one of the best live acts out today vs. one of the best live acts EVER.

The Director is not pleased @ being presented with this musical conundrum.  I'm aggy off this shit, fam.  Why I hate festivals . . . Seeing as I saw Queens a month ago, & it's been 6 months since Iggy plus the Fun House factor, Iggy by a hair.

PE vs. Cypress is a tossup.  Hung out with 'em both in NY during Rock The Bells, so I'm good either way.  B-Real is a hella cool cat, & Flavor Flav is a good dude.  Real nice.  A character.5, but good people nonetheless.  It's a tossup.  Seem 'em both more times than I can count.

M.I.A. in a landslide.  The Shins are an OK band, I guess - but not worth 1.5 hours of The Director's time.  Plus I like the way M.I.A. moves very[/b] suggestively on stage.  Sexy little thing.  While catching her with a certain boardie @ VFest, I think I developed a stage crush on M.I.A.

Well, either that or some wood but they're one & the same in this instance.

 But I digress, fam . . .

You're a nice guy, so I got some advice for you.  Don't miss Iggy.  It's some life-altering shit, fam. The Director doesn't operate in hyberbole nor exaggerate. You'll be kicking yourself for the rest of your life.

Very possibly, but I just don't care for the Stooges all that much.

this is an excellent point...damn it.  I might have to do the same.  Maybe catch 30 minutes of TC and then head over to get a spot for Daft Punk.  Then maybe the late night HOB show for TC...

There.  I'm a kind & merciful Director.  You happy now?

to temper this story: iggy & stooges at the 930 was indeed mind-blowing, 10 out of 10.  however, saw them at lolla and they rated an 8.5 - way above average, kick-ass, but not the mind-f*ck i experienced at the club (yes, i know, it's a truism: festival <> small club).  just sayin' that had i only seen iggy at lolla, i might favor QOTSA.  but i know the potential, so i'll be at iggy.

you might have your dates wrong there... TC are playing HOB on friday 10/26.  on saturday 10/27, they are playing at the festival (as is DP).  so you can't go from seeing TC at the festival to seeing them at the HOB, unless you have a time machine.  TC @ HOB appears to be sold out, but plenty of tickets on craigslist.
