For me, throwing in after parties is a bit much (although it's essentially what I do at SxSW).  I'll take a list, but doubt I'll get to any...  Of course, that depends on how shitty the weather is. [/QB][/QUOTE]

I hear ya, the thing about lolla for me is that most shows are unbearable doing the day because of the weather so if you stick it out then you'll be finished for anything afterwards.

Inevitably the smaller bands I want to see are playing early, but at least you can go in/leave/ come back at your leisure.  But since the smaller bands play early they're also likely to be doing shows at night as well which works for me because I'm basically a vampire, so I go see a couple of acts say from 5pm on and maybe a headliner if I like them but the after parties are what make this festival appealing at all because face it everyone playing here is playing somewhere else that we're likely to be so the line-up is kind of inconsequential, and for $60 can't really complain I'm missing anything, Daft Punk alone is worth what I'm paying for the entire festival so everything else is gravy.

SXSW is a different story, you end up putting in 20 hour day/nights and that's just a fact of life for 4 days a year.  I'm going to be doing some SXSW style shuttling between venues on Saturday night as I'm going to see The Automatic, Juliette & The Licks, and Cafe Tacuba before some late nite DJ action fortunately they're located with 6th Street like proximity so hopefully it'll work out, then Sunday morning I'm Audi.

the automatic played a very short set tonight. 40 mins max. so take that into account when planning their show. im debating on seeing them again, and im pretty sure the keyboard player messed up his leg jumping off some ridiculously high speakers. the show was out of control, insanely wild tonight. one of the guys we were with nearly got tossed from the bowery and i was pretty sure security was so unhappy with us. hanging around a bunch of real drunk brits is always a way for a good time.

anyone know if war tapes has any after party shows there? id def see them again. and i <3 neil, so id gladly go see him again. wonder if his jeans could be any tighter  :D

A short set is what I'm counting on, I have Juliette and the Licks a few blocks away at The Note, and I want to see her entire set as well.   Last time I saw the Automatic was at Brixton Academy in February headlining the NME Indie Rock Tour and they played well over an hour so I guess it just depends.

Is this for sure?  They still don't have info on re-entry on the website.

YES, it is for sure, the re-entry info the site is waiting to announce is for day ticket holders NOT for 3 day pass holders who will receive wristbands upon initial entry.

But better...Eddie's hometown...the likelihood of people like Ben Harper and Iggy Pop showing up...10c only.....should be insane.

Any plan for DC meetup at Fest?

Per usual, there's no one good time due to set sched.   But perhaps if a good spot is deemed, then some degree of randomness of running into a DC'er would be minimized.

Near SL, audienceright, of comedy stage?  (Mindfield maybe)

I'm hoping for something like that. I thought Kitchener was small. This is going to be too cool.

Wish I had an X ticket for you...

for the Vic show? if so...very nice.

i don't get into Chicago until 4ish that day.

and my tix partner doesn't get there until around 6. so i hope this wristband/line thing is manageable.

anyway it works out - i'll just be happy to be in the building.

I don't think the line at the Vic should be too bad, but who knows. I need to be there early if I want a poster though

OK, PJ hijack must end....

The RSVP on this is closed, but there are some rumblings that the "Special Guests" are going to be well worth the $15, I'm not going to pass on rumors, but boy I'd hate for you to read about on Saturday morning what I think is going to happen...I'd bring a camera too, you've been warned...
