I would have to agree with Mr. Leary. I like the new one more with each listen.

Can't wait for this show...LOVE the new record.

 From  summers kiss :

GET THERE EARLY TO SEE JEFF KLEIN. Jeff did a great job tonight, and there were not enough people to see it. Really, heâ??s incredible.

Afterhours plays a club like theyâ??re in a stadium. Intensity and energy. Pick up their album. Youâ??ll like it.

The crowd was there for The Twilight Singers. I havenâ??t seen a crowd that excited at a Dulli show since Washington DC â??98. Singing, dancing and glad to be alive. Indy, you out did yourselves. Iâ??m glad I could be a part of it. Without hesitation, this is the best live incarnation of Twilight. You owe it to yourself to see this show.

 Twilight Singers Setlist:
 Toward the Waves
 Iâ??m Ready
 Esta Noche
 Too Tough To Die
 Bonnie Brae
Thatâ??s Just How That Bird Sings
 Fountain & Fairfax
 Teenage Wristband
 All You Need is Love/Love
 Annie Mae
 Candy Cane Crawl
 Thereâ??s Been an Accident
Early Today (and Later That Night)
 Martin Eden
 Forty Dollars

 Encore
 The Killer
 Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
 Underneath the Waves
Deep Hit Of Morning Sun (Primal Scream)

Looking forward to reading reviews of the DC show. Mark Lanegan was added to the bill for the TS shows in Portland. I'm thinking that means some Gutter Twins material will be performed again.   :D

I was at those shows and up front dancing my ass off. Met a handful of folks from the Whigs mailing list, good times.

Mark Lanegan to join Twilight Singers tour in New Orleans-

Frequent collaborator, Mark Lanegan, will join the Twilight Singers tour on June 7 in New Orleans. The show at One Eyed Jack's will also feature Ani DiFranco and will be filmed by Rio Hackford (son of Taylor) for a DVD release. Don't miss this once in a blue moon experience.

Lanegan(Screaming Trees/QOTSA) will accompany the band thru the final 2 weeks
 of the tour.

Now that PJ is over - here's a chance to see maybe the second best touring band out there:
 Dulli & his dark knights.

 Be there.

<oldman>Really fucking loud. I had ear plugs, and it was too loud.</oldman> The vocals kept clipping. Might have been a bad microphone? It was actually kind of painful. Anyway, everyone's levels should have been reduced by 20%. One of the worst sounding concerts I've been to at the 9:30, and it really hampered my enjoyment of the show, especially at the beginning of the Twilight Singers' set. I can only guess that the sound engineer was intentionally trying to reproduce the sound of a really big arena show, but it didn't work. Maybe if the microphones and speakers they brought were up to the task, it would have been all right, but they weren't. Dulli's vocals had too much delay/echo. The whole thing just sounded muddy. I actually considered leaving about a half hour into the Twilight Singers' set. Oh, and Dulli smokes like a chimney, and most of his fans do too, rather annoyingly. Not a particularly enjoyable show. I'm sure I'll get flamed for writing that. That said, there were moments during the show that just transcended all of the annoyance. By the encore, I was enjoying myself enough and was glad I stayed. I particularly liked the way he'd start playing a cover song and then segue into one of his own songs.

Both Jeff Klein and After Hours were really good though, but in completely different ways. I enjoyed both of their sets very much.

I got there about 10 minutes before Twilight Singers so can't comment on After Hours or Jeff Klein although people said Jeff Klein was great

I didn't think it was overpoweringly loud although I was wearing earplugs - I did think the overall sound quality could be better

Dulli has put on a LOT of weight and his voice sounded a little shot

Darth Ed is right, there were some transcendant moments during the show and by the end people were begging for more - hearing Fountain and Fairfax again live was a personal highlight for me

Thats the problem though.....while I'll always love Dulli and like most of the Twilights output (with the exception of the new album which isn't grabbing me at all)....they'll never ever match the Whigs imho

great to finally meet grotty, mrs grotty and friends o' grotty.....thanks for the libations

The show was amazing.  I love this band.  The sound was ok from the balcony.  It sounded a lot better than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs show which was the last show I went to at 9:30.  YYY made me wanna leave.  Twilight made me want to PARTAY!  I was so happy they played Cigarettes.  That song just kicks ass.

Anyone have a setlist from the DC show?  Was a great set.
