So in this case, first impressions really shouldn't be applied to what they sound like now.

No offense but I still don't see you liking what they sound like now.

Ministry is another example of a band that totally changed their sound. Started off as wimpy sythn-poppers, and changed into a hard edged thrashy style band.
It is funny how that works though, because I know several people who did not like Being There when I played it in 1997 but ended up buying and enjoying it after YHF came out.

I will take that as a huge compliment going by the choice you made for a husband.

I think punks purposely strategically rip their clothes to look cool. I don't think Tweedy gives a rats ass about what he looks like, which is a good quality for a man to have, in my estimation.

not that I really care that much, but I do feel compelled to respond that I don't think you really know us at all based on some of the comments you've put here (about us being urban hipsters or some such nonsense

in any case, I would guess that you and yours are probably very much different from us...

I still think you're a dim wanker for not being able to appreciate Wilco, especially given some of the shit you DO like

Okay everyone.

If you don't like the music Celeste and Rhett likes, you must be a dim wanker.

 How very republican of them.

It seems "freedom of opinion" is not in their consitution.

I'm sorry. I should've been more clear. I'm just distracted because I'm working while I fuck around on this board...I should have said that that is just ONE of the reasons I think you are a dim wanker.

I didn't realize Mankie liked anything that was recorded AFTER 1987 by a band that started after 1987. Talk about being elitist. I actually like hundreds of cd's that were recorded after 1987, and hundreds more before.

Oh wait, there is Carbon Leaf and My Name is Kloot...

Here's a coinky-dink
My GF just called me and we were talking and she said "my friend at work said that Wilco sounds like Radiohead"  kinda funny since we've been talking about them....and i laughed.

surely Radiohead AND Wilco fans can all be appalled at that statement.

then she said he gave her a demo of his band...do i dare listen to music written buy a guy who thinks YHF is the next OK Computer?

perhaps it is something about people not liking bands whose members are all young enough to be their children  ;)

Fair comment coming from someone who just today made the comment that the 50's were the best era for music.
