Okay, I love "The Ego Has Landed," but don't have anything else.
 
 What's the word on "Intensive Care"??  Or, is there another album or two or three I should get (I was told "Swing When You're Winning" is a must have, I've been watching used CD bins for it....it was quite expensive new).

Most of his albums are UK only releases making them pricey here in the states.  I've only heard a few tracks off of Intensive Care and I felt it was a lot like Escapology - rather unimpressive.
 
 "Sing when your winning" and "Swing when you're winning" are both great.  Same for his DVD's - the guy cracks me up.  
 
 Otherwise, Ego, the Greatest Hits, and the live disc I already mentioned are about all I listen to consistently.

I am always amazed at the number to British acts that are "acceptable" to listen to in the States because they are "Britpop"...Travis, Keane, Stereophonics, Supergrass, Charlatans, Athlete, maybe even Robbie.
 
 Very few people in the UK who are big music consumers/fans/snobs listen to or respect these artists.  They are simply the British equivalent of Matchbox 20.

 I would contend that matchbox 20 is much worse than any of the acts you mentioned. Just because those acts are mainstream it does not mean that all of their work is derided.

Bags, I gotta tell ya, that song "Feel" was huge in Indonesia.  You heard it everywhere, in mall background music, played by bar bands, in hotel lobbies.  After a while, in spite of myself, that song got stuck in my head.  I even downloaded it to try to excorcise it, but it's still there, in my head and now on my laptop, too.

I enjoy Madonna and Kelly Clarkson (well, just that one song, but I LOVE that sont) as well.  And I LOVE Lit, which was being played alongside Matchbox 20 and Blink 182 or whatever number that is.  So it has nothing to do with Robbie's britishness.  It's fun, catchy music, I like his voice, and he's a hoot.  Looks to me like you're the one with the attitude.  If I like something, I like it, "genres" be damned.

I enjoy the beginning and ending of Intensive Care...the middle part of the album is pretty blah.  Is Sing When You're Winning available in the states?  I would buy that one over Intensive Care.
 
 On the ubiquity of Robbie Williams in Europe.  I was in Prague last year - everytime i switched on the TV in my hotel, there was Robbie.
 
 He played at the club a couple times in like 98/99.  Still kicking myself for not making the drive up from Harrisonburg to see him.

I wasn't trying to start a firestorm or be critical with my comments, it was merely an observation.
 
 I like a lot of the music that I mentioned (with the exception of Mr. Williams).  I was simply pointing out that when a late-twenty something male says "I really like Travis", it carries much different weight in the US and the UK.
