And my understanding is that Radiohead sells out anything they play in the States at this point. Hence why their headlining roles at Coachella and Bonnaroo were such big deals.
The last time they played US ampitheatres was 2003, I think. And if I remember correctly -- and again, someone correct me because I could very well be inaccurate -- neither their NJ nor Merriweather show sold out the lawn. On the other hand, if DMB (who are terrible, btw) play an ampitheatre, the lawn sells out in a day. U2 can do 2 nights at Verizon and both sell out instantly; I doubt Radiohead could do the same.
And as for Coachella, the Radiohead Coachella of 2005 did not sell out. This year's with Rage Against The Machine (again, terrible) did. Although, since those are multi-band events, it's apples and oranges. I do not believe Radiohead's Bonnaroo show sold out in '06 either.
Again, I could be wrong on some of those details, but I don't think so. I don't chart Radiohead ticket sales, that's just my recollections as a fan.
