That doesn't mean they're bigger.  Perhaps more influential (again, a plausible separate argument), but not bigger. [/b]
Actually, at this point?  I think Radiohead could equal U2 in ticket sales.

But you're absolutely right - I think U2 is the only other band you can include in that discussion.  Bruce & The E Street are more about Bruce than they are the "band."

Extremely doubtful. In the US, I don't think they could equal Dave Matthews Band. When Radiohead plays amphitheaters, correct me if I'm wrong, but the lawns don't usually sell out, right?

The last time this happened was almost what, six or seven years ago?

And my understanding is that Radiohead sells out anything they play in the States at this point.  Hence why their headlining roles at Coachella and Bonnaroo were such big deals.

Well then, Rather's an idiot. On of the advantages of getting your news from a respectable source that has some infrastructure is when someone acts like an idiot and their ego/politics cloud their views, they're usually fired/step down/removed as Rather was. Drudge, in his infinite megalomania, has no such checks and balances within the blogosphere so he's never held accountable for his numerous absurd "stories."

Isn't it important to note that Drudge ALMOST NEVER writes content?  I'd say 99% of what appears on his site is just a collection of other stories.

Julian, did you ignore my voting record because it disproves your hypothesis?

The last time they played US ampitheatres was 2003, I think. And if I remember correctly -- and again, someone correct me because I could very well be inaccurate -- neither their NJ nor Merriweather show sold out the lawn. On the other hand, if DMB (who are terrible, btw) play an ampitheatre, the lawn sells out in a day. U2 can do 2 nights at Verizon and both sell out instantly; I doubt Radiohead could do the same.

And as for Coachella, the Radiohead Coachella of 2005 did not sell out. This year's with Rage Against The Machine (again, terrible) did. Although, since those are multi-band events, it's apples and oranges. I do not believe Radiohead's Bonnaroo show sold out in '06 either.

Again, I could be wrong on some of those details, but I don't think so. I don't chart Radiohead ticket sales, that's just my recollections as a fan.

If you want to use Drudge as a meta-news site, more power to you. When he has any "original" news, it often turns out to be bunk.

I ignored it because I didn't see it in the page flip.

The difference is, no one cites mediamatters as an objective "news" site. Even democrats acknowledge that much of it's propaganda. (Obviously, mediamatters or drudge use verifiable facts/stats from time to time.)
