Managed to hit up both Churckey and Meridien Pint the last two nights for the GI tastings. All the beers were excellent, the guys from GI were cool to chat to - glad I could make it.

Highlights were the 2010 Madame Rose, the 2011 BCBS coffee and the King Henry - had several tastes of Rare - it was very good but seemed like it might have already peaked

did you try the matilda lambicus?  based on the name, i would expect it to be a funkier/barnyard'ier/etc version of matilda.

Online reviews were rather tepid and paled in comparison to Sofie Paradisi...(which I had and thought was good)

Did someone say best beer from Germany?

Klosterbrauerei Andechs DC Debut at ChurchKey

ChurchKey will tap the first kegs of Klosterbrauerei Andechs ever poured in Washington, DC.  From an email:

After drinking beer for 14 days straight I did not have a beer yesterday.  A new streak will start tonight.
