this was announced 2 weeks ago, and no one has shared this news yet?  y'all be slackin'.

Dear Friends,

Great news, Cantillon is expanding.
Since last year, we are looking for a new space and we got it.
The new building is located at 300m far from the brewery and, as you can see on the picture, it welcomed till the sixties a Lambic blender, Brasserie Limbourg.
The new space is big enough to dubbel the Cantillon's production.
Because we can't disturb the balance between new and old Lambic in our blend, we will increase the production each year to finally dubbel it in the four next year.
The wort, brewed at the Cantillon's brewery, will be transfered the day after the coolling and will matured for years in the new location.
As you know, we need at least two or three years to produce a beer. In this way to work, the next production increasing will take place during the season 2016-2017.
The building will be at our disposal next October, more news will follow.

2. they are still distributed by shelton brothers
3. doubling production? it already has a nearly non-existent presence in the US, what's doubling going to do?  a few extra people will be able to drop $30 for a mid-tier 5% sour bottle and then never see the product again?

and just a minor addition to the above ^^

the only bottles i've seen around WA are some of their mid-tier offerings.  lou pepe, iris, and fou foune have been seen on tap during special events, but they are usually crazy expensive and gone within minutes.  and of course, there are bottle offerings at brouwers and such, but the price tag is usually outrageous.  i just dont' see myself seeing out cantillon any more than i did before... not saying they don't make fantastic beer, but i'd rather save that money for a trip to belgium and get to enjoy it at the brewery sometime in the near future :D

almost all of their shit is 5%.

almost all of their 750ml is priced above $30.

almost all you'll ever see is their average ass shit and never the good stuff.

i just tell it how it is.

true, but cantillon doesn't price their stuff at $30.  at the brewery a bottle of their standard gueuze is a little over 6 bucks.  it's the importers and the shops that are jacking up prices because of the rarity and the public's willingness to pay.

no, i have zero feelings about my lack of, or future lack of, cantillon. and the reason for that is detailed above.  they could announce that zwanze day is now 365 days a week in every major city across the US and i would still give zero fucks about cantillon.  however, as i stated above, i would like to drink their beer because it is fantastic and i would like to drink said beers at their brewery at reasonable prices.

I did save some of my can for my wife to drink later. But I *do* get home first, so i may have given myself the bigger half.

Actually, I'm on home vacation. I had a whole one for lunch all by myself yesterday!
