No one going to Alberta Cross tonight?

I am along with partner and a friend.

I also saw both their sets at Bonnaroo last weekend.  They have a bunch of new songs they are playing, and they were all great.  Very excited for their next record.

Anybody missing the Feelies is just nuts. Saw them last night in Philly and they played a good 2 1/2 hours. About 4 or 5 encores. First set was an hour long, very pleasant and fun. Second set was psychedelic and blazing. Go see them if you can. Such a great live band.

Sade was phenomenal in b'more.  her voice is sooooooo smooth, she hasn't lost a thing over the years (certainly not her looks  :o ).  the band was on fire.  i'm a huge sade fan and walked in there with really high hopes, and they blew them out of the water.  my current front-runner for show of the year.  they played for 2 hours, john legend played for one.  he was awrite.  not my style of music and the production was a tad over the top (felt like a broadway show at times) but he's really good at what he does (and based on the screaming, what he does is get the ladies hot and bothered ;D)

Holy second Feelies set!

Might have been my favorite single set of 2011 so far.

First set was very well-played but it was used as a warm-up of sorts. The second and encores were a blistering rock show. My only complaint was that their leaving the stage and returning four times was stupid and unnecessary. I've said here on many occasions that planned encores, on the whole are stupid IMO so this was 4x the stupid.

End of set>encore break>two songs>encore break>two songs>encore break>two songs>encore break>two songs>end of show.

The greatness of the material (mostly covers ranging from the Beatles to the Rolling Stones to the Stooges to the Doors to R.E.M.)played during those encores, however, overshadows that minor issue.

The Feelies show is a strong contender for my favorite show of the year. That second set was heaven.

I'm really glad to hear you guys got a fantastic Feelies show too. TOTALLY agree with you about the first set being the warm-up and the ridiculous encore breaks. That being said, the second set was just incredible. Not bad for a bunch of people that look like high school teachers and a librarian. I think Glen Mercer is a very underrated guitarist, and Stan Demeski is one of my favorite drummers. He just nails those drum rolls, and the added percussion of wood blocks, tambourine, etc. is a lot of fun. Definitely one of my favorite shows of the year.
