Steely Dan- Aja

really one of those timeless masterpieces you can always go back to....its not so much Steely Dan as Fagen and Becker leading a session with the entire roster of 1970s top jazzbo session musicians....

Beatles 65

some of the Dave Dexter (cobbled together) made for USA issues between Meet the Beatles and Rubber Soul  - although much maligned- still sound great to me...I mean how can one put down so much an labum with I feel fine, she's a woman, no reply ,i'm a loser, rock and roll music, i'll follow the sun, honey don't, i'll be back, baby's in black, everybody's trying to be my baby and mr moonlight!

I like those releases because they're how I remember them when I grew up.  I've been listening to a lot of Beatles this week, prepping to see the new movie this weekend.  Now playing while I make dinner..."Yesterday and Today."

they had  a butcher cover earlier in the week at CD Cellar near here.... I did not look at it.. some dude came in while I was there saying "Heard you got one in... oh yah that is the one.. how much you want..."... they didn't want to sell it yet.. maybe by now its gone...

honestly I bet I have passed them up.. I look and look but can't figure it out

the piano scene of amhad jamal
piano, guitar, bass on epic "deep groove" mono
original recording of "billy boy" that got the attention of miles davis, who "borrowed" his arrangement for his own recording on the "milestones" album, of which he did not even play on.

It was the cd reissue that has the cardboard sleeve of the Butcher cover and a paper insert of the standard cover.
