I cannot stand whenever a new cell phone gets released, especially anything by Apple. Every male under 35 on the internet forms a clan and becomes a complete asshole for a month in some idiotic attempt to show who has the largest techno-penis.

I feel the same way about the iPod going away.  Every fucking music geek on the planet, who, mind you, hasn't bought an iPod in probably 5 years, acts like Apple is doing it intentionally to them and ruining the concept of home based music collections in the process.  Do I care that you own a thousand CDs and don't have a strong enough signal or big enough data plan to stream it all?  No, but I'm forced to listen to it everywhere....

If you really can't find another taker for the iPod I will make sure it's well loved... I'm admittedly spoiled with my 160GB model, but could find a use for a smaller one...

I can appreciate where you're coming from, but it seems like a false equivalency. One thing is a one-time, one-day kerfuffle versus something that happens for a few weeks multiple times a year. And none of us who like the iPod Classic are going around insulting people who just bought a Zune or whatever and telling them they have a "faggot music player" or some nonsense. My comments were more directed at the lack of common courtesy and decency that happens because - dear God - someone did or did not by a [insert phone model here].
