I went last night. It was pretty entertaining but I think he could have moved things along faster and rambled less. Listening to someone talk for 2.5 hours is a bit much no matter who it is.

As far as I know it was free as long as you bought the book from Politics and Prose.
I did this for Salman Rushdie a few years back...well worth it as I got to meet him.

Of course its not worth it to you if you don't like his books but plenty of people do and to them I'd say its worth it to get two free tickets to hear the author upon purchasing his book.

Michael Moore is a lazy, fat, uneducated blowhard who is SUCH a hypocrite when it comes to what he SAYS he "believes in" it's almost an insult to hypocrites everywhere. He's background noise. Do you know any functioning member of society that listens to what he says and believes? I mean, besides sheep?
To call him a patriot means you are very naive and haven't experienced much when it comes to the world. I hope you have band-aids handy when you get cut. But I can stop by and help you wash all the panes in your glass house. Anytime.

I mean really.
But I happen to think that taking a stand against a very popular- sold to the American people via a pack of lies- but harmful war to our nation was and will always be patriotic.
Now we see them dime a dozen "I was against the war...."..Everyone was!
But in March 2003 there weren't many of us on the mall protesting the war that was about to come... and we were the ones being called unpatriotic.. And over the next few years there weren't many of us at the protests in Lafayette Square. I can assure you of that...

Listen, I don't want to get in a political discussion here. I don't think blood was "wasted" over there. I don't think American soldiers giving their lives ANYWHERE is a "waste." I'm sure you differ on that. And I have no idea what you mean by "treasure". Are you referring to some video game or something? Yes Brian - because you know all. My friends obviously waited all day in line to be at Radiohead in the very front. They spent $80 on tickets even tho theyre not employed. We all live in luxurious apartments in Manhattan and dont think twice about paying $3,000 in rent. We're also all hipsters, and are trust-fund kids - so the complaining about losing a job - whatevs - we'll go down and protest. Go keep drinking the kool-aid!
And oh yeah, last I checked NYC is not Manhattan.

I've been laid off a couple of times and decided looking for another job was more productive than sitting in the middle of the road sulking.

Iraq, in my opinion, was a personal vendetta from Dubya to Sadam Hussein for the attempted assasination on his dad. There was absolutely no benefit to the USA to invade Iraq. Dubya should be investigated for war crimes over this.
Afghanistan had merit, the only problem was the military was not allowed to go in...do it's fucking job, then get the fuck out. They may as well have sent them in with water pistols. This going in half-arsed makes no sense so they should not have gone it at all.
Like it or not, war has been declared against us by a faction of the muslim faith. The Taliban harbored these radicals so they need to be taken the fuck out, so you, me and our families can live in peace and not worry about being blown into little pieces during our commute to work. I lived in Manchester in the 70's so have experienced what terrorists do first hand. My mother missed being blown up by a matter of seconds in the city center, and I was in a department store when a bomb went off two floors below me.
These bastards see negotiation as a sign of weakness...they only understand force.
