Moog's Filtatron (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/filtatron/id396776418) app is free today until 3pm EST. iOS only. It's a lot of fun for making racket.

way cool, thanks for sharing that.

they had this app for free a while back and i missed out on it.  glad to have another crack at it, but the 3 pm cutoff is a bit of a pain.

Load up a sample on the Sampler section.  Run it through through the filters and FX.  Now you are a producer.

Or just crank up the amp and feedback so that it self-oscillates (it emulates analog synth after all), then adjust other controls. If you come up with a sound that you like, save it as a preset.

miniSynth 2 (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/minisynth-2/id616496999) is also free today.

By the same guy that created the iOS synth, Magellan.

Thanks. Didn't know about this one or the Magellan. I already had their original Minisynth plus Thereminator.

It emulates a theremin (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/thereminator/id289040845?mt=8)

And here's another favorite: Bebot (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bebot-robot-synth/id300309944?mt=8)

I've heard this used in some Sufjan Stevens tracks but offhand can't remember which ones.

I haven't tried Magellan on my iphone, just iPad and it's in my top three for iOS synths.
If you're into the MiniMoog sound and have an iPad, iminiSynth (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imini/id603340125) is 1/2 off right now at $10.
