It's on....started at 10:00PM.

If you missed the show, tune in again on
 Tuesday at 10:00PM.

 -Edit-
 Major correction:
They've changed the scheduled days of my show already. Instead of Saturday, the other show will be on Tuesdays. So, Thursdays and Tuesdays at 10:00PM...which is a good thing. Tuesday is a better listener night than Saturday.     :D

Last minute reminder. A new editon of The Trans-Atlantic Underground (http://brit-radio-brit.blogspot.com/2008/09/trans-atlantic-underground.html) will air in just about an hour from now at 10:00PM East Coast time.

This particular edtion is pretty powerful. Within my TAU shows, I tend to have a set theme or even present a story. This one is called "Let The Revolution Begin".

The show is 2 hours long.

Throughout the show, you will hear a variation of music from Electonica, Ambient, Shoegaze, Indie, Brit Rock and the like. The show starts a bit more laid back but then picks up a punch later within the show.

 Feedback appreciated.

Tune in via this web page:

I caught an earlier flight and made it back home.

Also, I have a free +1 to Julien Baker at Atlantis tomorrow. LMK if you want it.

True story, we went to the Asheville area for Spring Break 2017. We stayed in a really nice three bedroom VRBO with hot tub, pool table, foosball table, and all kinds of cool stuff.. It was the only vacation that we brought our dog on that wasn't a visit to see family.

One day, we left our dog crated. I'm not sure why we did, I guess we were going somewhere that dogs weren't invited. I usually am the one handling the dog, but for some reason my wife did it that day, and set up the crate a little too close to the "antique" chair that adorned the living room. I seem to remember it was a simple small chair, not the main recliner. When we came back, the "antique" chair had been torn up by our dog, reaching his mouth through the crate.

We debated whether to try to hide the evidence and deny responsibility or to tell the truth and accept the consequences. We decided on the latter. After all, how much was the crappy old chair worth anyway?

Well, I don't know what the chair was worth, but the repair was $900. At least that's what the owner demanded from us.

Did I fail to mention the VRBO was in Swannanoa, NC? I'll be watching news footage for evidence of that fucking chair floating down the river.

RIP Theo, sorry we didn't bring you on any family vacations after that.

Yeah. It’s real bad. My ex’s family lost both of their houses and their next door neighbors are presumed dead. They’re moving to Hickory for 12 months. There will be a time where tourism dollars will be needed and helpful for this community but I don’t think that’s going to be anytime soon.

I am very sorry to read that…Asheville is a nice place.

We went to New Orleans the year after Katrina. Human beings are very resilient. But we will see…

the amount of crazy on the internet is higher than normal with all this "gov't is controlling the weather to stop the elections and Kamala let blackrock get all the land from NC residents who didn't want to sell their land that stands over the worlds largest lithium deposit"

yikes Florida!
Tampa isn't going to get crushed by winds, it will be the surge which could be over 10 feet and most of the costal areas are just inches above sea level many miles in

the videos of Tornados forming are all over twitter!

Of course, the crazies are saying that the gov't is controlling the weather to tilt the election
did you see the size of this hurricane! It is bigger than Texas and to think we could control something that big is just lunacy

Hoping for the best for Florida.

I would have evacuated days ago but for some reason I always think these hurricanes will not hit or will lose strength.

Tampa almost never gets hit and has a very large population in low levels right near the coast

this is a very unique path and Tampa is particularly vulnerable to storm surges

Don't think the Rays are going to be hosting any home games soon
https://x.com/PatDonovanRadio/status/1844305739021684835

but it does look like this once in a century hurricane was not as insane as predicted
thank goodness

3 mill without power and the tornados did a lot of dammage
but no 10 foot surge, I think it was 16 inches in St Pete

it will likely be billions in damage, but nothing like what NC just experienced
guess it's still a little early to tell

I have no boner in this lover's quarrel, but I'll point out that Opening Day 2024 was March 28.

my dad lives in clearwater, AKA across the bay from tampa.  he decided to ride out the storm, despite my pleas to get the eff outta dodge.  haven't heard from him yet, but that is expected, for now - i told him to ping me as soon as he gets power/cell/internet back but it'll take some time.  i'm nervous but the fact that he wasn't in the direct path, he's on (slightly) higher ground and that milton wasn't quite as bad as predicted is providing some comfort.  fingers still crossed.

Hope he's ok.
appears some of the worst damage was due to tornados...and those didn't happen in the tampa area
the 4 deaths were in Ft. Peirce which is on the east coast about 100 miles north of West Palm Beach?
