This Magik Markers is a pleasant surprise. Who would've guessed that Elisa had a decent singing voice?

The fact raccoo-oo-oon has on been mentioned once is a travesty.

Also: LCD Soundsystem, Panda Bear, Bloc Party, National.

julian, i think your recent conversion to born-again status has affected your ability to appreciate music.  LCD was an above-average album, but isn't mind-blowing.  the national falls into the same category: i don't see it surviving into many people's end-of-year "best of 2007" list.

I tend to listen to the same artists repetitively, so my best-ofs are mostly meaningless. That said, two albums that have managed to convert me are:

 Boxer - The National
 Marry Me - St. Vincent

I won't even pretend that Stars makes the list, despite them being my favourite group.
