I think band names should be symbolic of the band members, but at the same time, really make you think. Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Big Ass Truck, Exit Clov....some simple, some not. The Tyde?

Sure, refrencing a character from a Beckett play in your name could be seen as pretentious, but what would that have to do with the music? And i know for a fact in this case, the band likes to keep people thinking, and they do succeed in doing that with their music. And their band name...

What is that they about a book and its cover?

Psychadelic band from LA with songs about surfing. "The Tyde" would appear perfectly apt.

Exit Clov, now knowing that it is a Beckett reference, makes me think the music will be full of negative spaces and experimental....

It does.

Have only heard a couple Fire Theft songs but thought that they were okay. Nothing all that special, as of yet but not that bad either.

The 22-20s is the name of a song that the boys like.

Elbow has a very sensual neurological history to it.

Exit Clov, doesn't bother me, except for that fact that I hate Beckett.
