Well, this was the first show in a long time that I truly didn't enjoy.  I didn't know much about the group and had only heard the latest album a few times, so went in with an open mind.  After about 45 minutes I pretty much knew it wasn't my cup of tea.

I don't want to say they were "bad" necessarily.  They certainly had passion and it was a sold out show, so they've got fans.  But all I could really hear was cacophony.  No melodies or anything I could follow musically except the drum beat.

I wish I had caught more of the opener.  I walked in during the end of the last song.  I think I counted 9 on stage.  Cool sound, I liked the brass.

I love them on record - was a bit disappointed with the live show - too much unfamiliar weirdness the first half of the set, standing in one place in a hot crowded room, I lost interest during the more familiar upbeat songs at the end and ducked out before it was over.  Don't get me wrong, I don't need to hear all my fav songs when I go to a show, but it was just a poor sequencing of the setlist in my opinion.  Opening band was entertaining... accordian, brass, banjo, distortion on an acoustic guitar, ugly shirts, broken english and goofy smiles.
