Ticketmaster Global Hacked (ie, not North America)

https://gizmodo.com/ticketmaster-discloses-breach-that-impacts-nearly-5-per-1827185787

Ticketmaster on Wednesday disclosed a data breach reportedly caused by malware infecting a customer support system outsourced to an external company.

In a statement, Ticketmaster said some of its customer data may have been accessed by an unknown intruder. Email notifications were sent to customers who purchased tickets between February and June 23, 2018, the company said.

Names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and payment card details may have been compromised.

....

Despite an apparent ongoing investigation, the company claimed Wednesday that less than 5 percent of its global customer base was affected. “Customers in North America have not been affected,” the company said.

I was fully prepared to start a new thread for this until I saw that it did not impact North American accounts, then it was NBD....

maybe we need a "we are all hacked" thread

New breach might have exposed data of almost every US adult

While the database apparently does not include credit-card numbers or Social Security numbers, it does include phone numbers, email and postal addresses as well as more than 400 personal characteristics, such as whether a person is a smoker, if they own a dog or cat, their religion and a multitude of personal interests. Even though no financial information was included, the breadth of personal data could make it possible to profile individuals or help scammers steal identities.

If confirmed, the data leak would be one of the largest in history, and far bigger than the Equifax data breach last year that exposed the personal information of about 148 million consumers.

I wonder if timing of their contracts with Fly ending coincidentally or if they had penalties to get out of an ongoing contract or if Fly just gave in without a fight
