Yep.....

Its really, really good too. Surprisingly good. I think it maybe even better than how I remember my titanium litespeed obed. I really like steel and I guess Reynolds 853 is about as good as it gets.

Went for two excellent off road rides this weekend.

Saturday with Bungle in the Gambrils, really rocky and quite technical. Someone fell off six times...... But the trails there are as good as any I have ridden, including Vail and Aspen.....

Sunday with GGW at Shaeffer farms, rolling smooth fast flowing and not technical, it was a blast. Good fun for a training ride and it beautifully offset the difficulty of the Gambrils ride. Plus the scenerey is cute.

I would recommend the farms to anyone without too much mountain bike experience. I would think you would really enjoy it, Mankie.

Thanks for the great rides, guys.

Anyone else going to come along the weekend after next?

I did my ride out to Point of rocks and back....nice ride and very hilly.

BTW, what is cyclist protocol for responding when some redneck in a pickup truck yells abuse at you about how cyclists shouldn't be on the fucking road, or whatever it was he mumbled through a gobfull of Skoal? I'm sure it happens to every roadie at some point so just wondered what others do.

Catch up to him at the next light, drag him from the truck, and beat him senseless with your pump.

Well that was my initial "reflex reaction"...you can do a lot of damage with your clips if you get him on the ground then stomp on his face repeatedly  :)  HOWEVER! I decided to take the high-road so didn't even acknowledge him...then spent the next 30 miuntes pissed at myself for not reacting.

I will do some off-roading after the MS century ride...don't want to tempt fate and break something again before that ride. I also need to get my skills up to snuff. The fitness is there, but not the skills. Which is more dangerous than the other way round don't you think?

Well I was asking GGW if he had remembered to bring the paddles with him......

Actually I think you would have to be pretty unlucky, foolish, and un-coordinated to hurt yourself at Shaeffer Farms. The only way to build skills is time on the bike.
