Also, in the encore, they played Nick Drake's "Northern Sky." Although I unfortunately kept thinking about John Cusack in Serendipidy, it was a great cover.

maybe MMJ could just be best described as a brokeass overhyped band. they remind me of one of the shittiest (sic? is it 1 t or 2?) bands of this decade...jet, which is odd because they obviously don't sound anything alike.

Awesome show. Did it sell out? The 9:30 seemed a bit more crowded than other sold out shows I've been to.

I don't think it officially sold out but it was pretty darned close. We were right up for Kathleen Edwards and then went to the Back Bar for the rest of the show. Nothing wrong with MMJ - just not my thing.
Interesting tidbit of the night (for me) was when I found out that Kathleen grew up basically around the corner from me in Ottawa. We would have gone to school together if I hadn't been 694 years older than her.
