If you dont know mt is short for mount you really ought to try reading more books.
The really funny thing here is that it's plane (as in astral plane) not plain.  Unless you were trying to make a joke.  Then it wasn't funny.

I thought he was trying to say that he was on a different comedic plane (of existance) than the rest of us mortals.

the equivocation was meant to be mildly self-deprecating, but why should I bother? I am the smartest person I know.

In me the scientist,
Always stuck on, always trying this.
I try to live on science alone.
 Analysis and freaky sensitivity,
Weâ??ve gotta live on science alone.

Yeah, uh, I am a scientist.
Yeah, uh, I am a scientist.
Yeah, uh, I am a scientist.
Weâ??ve gotta live on science alone.

Religiously, I'm speaking on the science, 'cause
Weâ??ve gotta live on science alone.
Iâ??ll tell you what, Mathematically I'm having it.
I wanna live on science alone.

Yeah, uh, I am a scientist.

You don't know how lovely you are

  I had to find you
  Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart

  Tell me your secrets
  And ask me you questions
Oh let's go back to the start

  Running in circles
  Coming in tales
  Heads are a science apart

  Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
  Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh take me back to the start

  I was just guessing
  At numbers and figures
  Pulling your puzzles apart

  Questions of science
  Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

  Tell me you love me
  Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start

  Running in circles
  Chasing tails
And coming back as we are

  Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
  Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I'm going back to the start

Has anyone run across a bootleg of the show yet.  I know that there were some people recording it but I haven't seen anything floating around yet.

Apperently there's a GBV song called I Am A Scientist (there's probably a GBV song for every word in the dictionary) but I'm feeling too lazy to post the lyrics.
