My point is not that the NY Times speaks for everyone; it's that I think that Okrent makes some very valid points on why journalism naturally leans toward liberal (based in urban centers; traditionally liberal profession). Personally, I don't have any problem with that, and I certainly don't consider myself "victimized" by it in any way.
 
 As far as circulation statistics, those are strawmen.  People don't read something looking to change their mind; they migrate toward that which reinforces the views they already hold.

 taking the NYT as an example of all US media?  why don't we look at USA Today* instead and use that to label the entire industry?  had a look at  most popular radio talk shows recently?

 This isn't about him disagreeing at all.  It's about a patterned history since Dupek lost his job that is becoming problematic (to put it lightly) for the hosts and members of this board.

No, problematic would be running a bulletin board to attract business to your club, but constanlty having to police said message board due to inappropriate posts full of explicit and profoundly racist material.

ggw is one of the longest-tenured posters on the board - based on his comments over the years I don't think its a stretch to say he's probably not a liberal.....and I can't think of anyone who has a 'problem' with him

 the inconvenient truth game is no longer funny, if you don't like the fact that there are injustices, bias, etc in the world then do something about it!  Write your congressmen, media, lather rinse repeat.   continually airing them on this board is going to accomplish anything....

I didn't post in this thread to prove any case against Dupek, I posted to defend your attack on Kosmo, and I will keep it as such.  Much like my stance on Dupek, I won't be baited into garbage.

I agree. It is one of the main reasons I don't spend as much time here as I used to. It's become an ugly poisonous place @ times.
 
 It's not even about the content or the message. It is the appropriateness of the outlet. Analogy: I don't go hiking to hear a loud rock concert (tho I do love both.)
 
 For many - music is an escape from this kind of thought/content...if only for a short time period.
 
 I say kill the garbage here. There are many, many, many other outlets available.
