I think this calls for a Congressional investigation, as they are setting a bad example for the youth of America.
They don't give a fuck. Trust that. The mecca of concerts ($$$$ wise, anyway) NYC has (or is about to) actually make scalping LEGAL. [/b]
courtesy of the garden's website. i havent noticed any changes tho and still dont see much scalping. then again im not usually in attendance at the biggest shows here. one thing i have noticed at msg shows, if you are sitting anywhere on steps outside the theater area (even if youre out of the way) security will tell you that you cant sit there.
Scalping
Please note that New York law prohibits the resale of tickets within one thousand five hundred feet from Madison Square Garden. In addition, New York law prohibits the sale of tickets to events at the Theater at Madison Square Garden for more than 20% above the price printed on the face of the ticket and prohibits the sale of tickets to events at the Arena for more than 45% above the price printed on the face of this ticket. Unlawful resale can be punishable by fine and/or imprisonment. [/b]
Case en point: Bought my little brother (well, me too. I'm a keep it funky with y'all
) tickets too see Nas last (Friday before) Christmas @ Nokia Theater. Had HARD tickets for the first show which were $45 face. The second show I got approached by scalpers selling ticketfast, I will mind you, for no less than $160. I politely implored them to kiss my ass & kept it moving . . .
I can tell you for gospel fact that Police & Van Halen seats at MSG floor go for NO less than $600. And that's a daydream figure. Online killer rows are going for $1500, so day of at the venue a $1K at a minimum. They want that Park Avenue money, baby!
