Make sure you type the password in all lower case letters.

Ignore markie, he just jumps on any bandwagon.

How 'bout the fact that I have gotten 3 different pre-sale passwords (one from a radio station, one from a venue, and one from the band)?

 Ludicrous is an understatement.

One leap forward, two leaps back, will annoying Mankie get me the sack?

Whilst I might be clinging to my youth by being a celebrity stalker at least I am not embracing old age by becoming a curmudgeon.

at least we still have the quoting of lyrics to keep the bond!   ;)

 "curmudgeon"
An ill-tempered person full of resentment and stubborn notions

I only meet the "stubborn notions" in that description...try another big word, or just stick with "you utter utter barstard"

They probably use them as tracking devices for marketing purposes.

ERR, I dont like lentils? I always think it should have a Y in it probably because it always makes me think of

I think about spelling and typing long words correctly. I dont spend so much effort for the more mundane ones.

I had lentils for din-dins last night actually....Fresh Fields make some really nice lentil burgers. A bit pricey but just the job for a treat once in a while....they even taste great if you crumble them up in pasta sauce.

Indeed I can, the correct spelling is "penne" and penne pasta goes well with the lentil burgers and pasta sauce I mentioned earlier.

Not my point.  How exclusive is presale if you can get exclusive presale passwords from:

The band (fair enough - assumes you're a fan)
The venue (if it were a smaller venue like 9:30, it would make sense, but GW Arena - they don't exactly have a flurishing fan base like say the 9:30 Club)
The Radio Station (every Tom, dick and Markie got that password)
Wherever else you get a password that I didn't happen to be signed up on....

 ????

Passwords and codes like that are usually tracking devices. Sometimes it's a rep's name that is used. Have you ever noticed how often an ad on tv will instruct you to ask for Judy? (That's a common tracking name used.) It's not even a real person.

In this case, they may be tracking website vs venue vs airplay, etc... Keep in mind, they want to sell tickets so they don't want to make it too difficult to obtain these things. It's not that exclusive. This is the record industry which is sales. It's quite common to research things like that by following trails. Gives them an idea of who to market to and where to spend their advertising dollars.

here's the deal:
Volume is the snail mail newsletter we send out each month.  Each month there is a "Volume Presale" for a higher profile 9:30 show - an added bonus for Volume subscribers, perhaps an incentive to subscribe.  If you want to get on that list, email your snail mail address to Volume@930.com, and then you won't have to wait for someone to post the password on the Forum.
The email list receives offers of its own, often related to I.M.P. shows as well as 9:30 shows - this most recent blast included the White Stripes presale offer and a "girl gets in free with a paid guy" offer for Burlesquefest next Friday.  If you want to get on that list, ping your address on over to list_serve@930.com.
And as for the whole "presale" thing - have they become so ubiquitous that they're kind of silly?  Perhaps.  But can you imagine what people would be saying if DC101, WHFS and the band's fan club all had offers to get tickets early and we didn't avail you, our devoted clientele, of the same?
