the best hotel in d.c. is "the melrose", near 24th, nw.
 
 looks expensive, treats you expensively, but is not that $$.  and the bar, "the library", rules.
 just don't buy the cigars; man they rip you off.

i don't like rouge at all. i much prefer topaz, helix or monaco. monaco is my favorite. what a gorgeous building.
