Well punk was well dead by 85..... So does that mean you will be going to see the Mekons at iota on Sunday?

We saw them at Bumbershoot in '02, as well as Jon Langford's other band, the Waco Brothers in '03 (also saw Sally Timms solo as well). They weren't bad, but not worth a second time around. The Mekons were  better than the Waco Brothers.

I remember the Mekons used to always play that the little hole in the wall alternative club when i was in college in the late 80s. Never saw them then, though I did quite like their "Mekons Rock and Roll" album.

OK....

 Thanks.

Somehow the mekons never really made any impact on me. Perhaps I will make the effort and give them a listen.

back to the original story, it appears to have been written in the mid 90's and is posted all over the internet.  i wondered about the content seeing as converse has been bought up by the evil nike, can't see converse as having the same punk cred anymore.

I forgot to say, at CMJ in NY last year, converse and Levi's were both giving away stuff free to bands..... Quite funny to see all the members of a certain band Lulu is fond of in new black converse and new Levi's.

Have to agree with the guy's view on baggy shorts. Yuck!
