Really?  I love their older EP's, but I just heard an advance too of one of the songs they re-worked for the album and I'm NOT sure I like it.  I hope the album does not blow.  That's disappointing to hear.

I might try to catch some of Band of Horses if the Zero 7 show at the 9:30 Club ends a little on the early side. Doubtful. I'm kind of bummed. I really wanted to see both of these shows. There's an outside chance I might sell my Zero 7 ticket and go see Band of Horses instead.

Rather underwhelmed am I. They need to work on stage prescence and not have long breaks between songs. I was way in back, but no one, the crowd or the band, seemed really enthused. But it might have just been my vantage point.

way to much jibber jabber on stage and off.  i have rarely heard people talk as much at a show.  the band (of horses) probably spent 10-12 minutes blabbing b/t songs before their break.  a sort of pixies tour de force (no talking) they were not.

How are the songs live though?

I guess I liked the show more than most.  The songs came off pretty good live and really liked the covers and new songs as well.

I guess i feel the same way about the songs live as i do on the CD; the energetic ones like Funeral or Great Salt Lake sounded good, but the slower stuff didn't. The lead singer really needs to sing into the mic a bit more often too. The sound was really good though, his voice sounded awesome, but again, that depends where you are. The secret of the Cat is the sound always sounds better in the back, and real muddy if you are in the middle of the room.

We thought Band of Horses were great last night.  The sound at the Fillmore was near perfect and the crowd was really into it.
 
 Ben Bidwell's voice is exceptionally strong - at times reminding me of a young Perry Farrell.  His voice definitely got stronger as he pulled away from the mic.
 
 They played just over half of Everything all the Time, 3 new songs, and 3 cover songs (including an ELO song!).  Tim and Chris were on drums and bass, and the guys from Simon Dawes were on rhythm guitar and keyboards.
 
 Only once did they have a long interlude between songs, so that was nice, otherwise they just hammered through some great material.  I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed "Our Swords" being only two bass guitars and a drum.  That was incredible.
 
 Seeing The Funeral live has convinced me that it's The Song of the Year.
