As is becoming more and more customary, you're dealing with idiots on message boards.

The $160 seats are the seats on the floor.

The $40 GA seats are for standing on the floor in the circle.

The prices for seats around the arena (not on the floor) vary, but they do peak at $160.

so the whole floor isn't GA like the elevation tour?  and about how many of the $40 dollar tickets are they selling.  sounds to me like the whole best seats are only $40 bucks is a bit of uberhype to me. seeing as those will be selling on ebay for five times that....

I don't think so, but I'm not sure yet (ask me in 10 minutes).  As I understood it, they were going back to the JT and Zoo TV Indoor model, front section no seats, back section seats.  But of course, I could be wrong.

I was able to get 2 floor seats ($49.50) for San Jose.

My sister was not able to get floor seats, but has 2 Lower Level Reserve for $95 for San Jose (opting NOT to go with best available and paying $160).

It was a pain in th ass compared to the previous lottery system they used for Elevation, Popmart, Zoo, etc.  It took like a half hour, but I was never concerned that I wasn't going to get any tickets, it was just about where I was going to be. I think the difference is that previously, they spread it out over the 4-5 shows that they would be playing in town (from the lottery, you were pretty sure that you would get floor seats for a show, you just didn't know which show).  Because they used TM, Fan Club members only had access to one show.  I can see why it would be frustrating to many, especially the long term fans.

I did see that TM Euro has apologised to U2 fans for F'ing it up in a big way.   I think I will be avoiding the U2 message boards for a few days.

I tried and tried to get floor tickets for Chicago, but no luck.  All I could find were nosebleeds.

Hope my $40 goes towards buying Bono another mansion.

You (and others who didn't get floor tickets) have every right to be.  I too feel that they could have handled this better (like announce all the shows and spread it out for the fan club so that there is a true benefit for forking out the $40).  There's no doubt they are going to add shows - that's why the schedule is so spread out.

So why not let everbody who forked out the money to be in your fan club have a shot at floor seats for one of the many shows you will play, not just the one that's on sale today?

And I also believe that you were correct in your assessment that the entire floor will be GA.  So why the few tickets to fan club members?  I feel very fortunate to have gotten floor seats, but I think others should be glad that their $40 got them seats - if you thought it was tough to get tix today, try again this weekend.  That's going to be unbelievable.  I do hope that U2 offers other goodies for the membership fee, although I'm sure many people signed up just for the tix, and are left disappointed today.

Gee, I thought my super-secret U2 password would only buy me 2 tickets, and here are these tools with dozens of them.

I wish 60 Minutes or Dateline or somebody would do a story on collusion between Ticketmonster and these dickhead brokers.
