oh they are?  I was thinking of going to this to see a friend, but I've heard good things about WSC so that's another reason to go...

 I may or may not go depending on how tired I am & how much friend wants me to come.

 would my innocent 16 year old sister enjoy them?  she wants to go to the 930 and I don't know what show to take her to.

This should be a good show for her.  It looks to be a lot of fun.

You will both have a blast.  It is impossible to go to a Washington Social Club show and not have a blast.  Just impossible.  Get on your dancing shoes...

Two Questions;

 How old is your sister?

 Is Smackie still in town?

she's 16, and Smackie's gone so I'm letting her out.

 she randomly told me a couple weeks ago that she wanted to go to the 930 club, and this was the best I could come up with...and this way I don't have to buy her a ticket  :p

 it's a monumental occasion!  her first 9:30 show!  WHOO!

 maybe I'll pin a sign on her back or something.

You do realize you'll be the coolest big sis ever.

 I took my daughter with a couple of her school pals to the 930 when she was 16. Overnight I became the coolest dad on the planet - well at MAGRUDER high school anyway, but I'll take that. When she was younger I sat through a Backstreet Boys concert (twice), Hanson and some skateboarding thing at MCI. I got 10 minutes of Social D at the skateboarding wham-jam-I'm yer man or whatever the hell they called it, and all I could think about was what the hell was Social D thinking getting involved with this crap?

I thought it was an excellent show.  Unfortuantly I had class and could not check out WSC, but the Klaxons more than made up for a missed opener.  I didnt write down the set list, but it seems like they played all of the tunes on their cd, and a couple more (I didnt recognize on song during the set, and the encore song.)  I was suprised at how much of their music was played on just guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard.  From their cds, I imagined a ton of gear, but they kept it simple.  The crowd was really getting into it, especially around the stage, where most of the people danced/jumped around the whole time.  They also felt the need to name drop dc at least a dozen times. Also, the onstage banter was unintelligible, and I couldnt tell if it was due to accents or not talking directly into the mic.
 All in all, they rocked the shit out of the 930 club, and I hoep to catch them there again before they move onto bigger venues.
