Bebel/Manu/Thievery Roll Call
« on: June 22, 2007, 01:11:00 pm »
Who is going?

Are the floor seats actually seats? I know its GA on the floor, but does that mean a frenzy for a seat? Or is GA, and designed to be a giant dance floor?

I'm pretty sure per Merriweather's standard operating procedure that they take all the seats out of the pit and it's standing.

For the record, I will be there and in the pit.

the floor is without seats, so one big dance pit.

check out CL, there were all sorts of tickets on offer last week - including mine, which i sold so i won't be at the show.  this is going to be an amazing way to spend a beautiful saturday evening, wish i could make it (but i'll be dancing under the stars in the forests of southern PA).

please let us know how much fun you have   :)

there are tons of tickets on craig's list. i emailed 18 of the listings and 12 of them responded within 2 hours with tickets still needing to be offloaded. now i'm just neogetiating price. who the hell are these people that think they are going to get full price for a show that isn't sold out with over 40 listings of tickets on craig's list? and its the day before the show? people are clueless.

so, anyone got 2 extra tickets together that are decent seats in the pavillion and will take $60 for the pair? pm me!

I'm pretty excited for tonight.  Thievery is always great and Manu was good at Bonnaroo.  I was kind of dissapointed at the lack of a horn section though, maybe he'll have one along tonight?
 See everyone there!

hot damn, that was a fantastic show. 6 hours of non stop music. we swung tickets late in the game that were kinda crappy seats, but since no one was sitting where they were supposed. we moved over and had good seats. hell, i don't anyone sat down once tc went on stage until they slid their butts into their car seats. quite the site of dancing folks all over.

i think bebel needs to get booked at the 930 club. she'd probably sell the place out and she would do much better in a smaller venue. i liked her, but it was getting lost in a crowd that large.

now, tc, they could play to 50k or 50 people and still blow the roof off that joint. wow. they never cease to amaze. (and i'm running out of appendanges large and small to count the amount of times i've seen them) the folks next to us came down from manhattan on a whim, never seeing tc before and were balled over.

what albums do you recommend for manu chao? i much prefer the reggae influenced pieces over the harder pieces. great performance, but not always my kind of music.

parked at the mall, easy in, easy out.

 MOST excellent day.

Great show. Not a huge Manu fan, but Bebel and TC were amazing. Glad TC switched the set up a bit from their last 2 years and played some stuff like Heaven's Gonna Burn Your Eyes Out that I hadn't heard before.

Only complaint: they took my ticketstub when I got a pit wristband. Any chance we can send a SASE and get one, those of us who like to collect such things?

next time that happens, (FYI, they are "supposed to be" handing them out to those who want them as you leave the pit after the show.) find an usher as you're exiting the PIT area of the pavilion and they should give you your stub back.

does anyone know the name of the last song thievery did before bebel joined them?  it got stuck in my head every time they played it last december at the club, and it's back in there now.  coming down?  something like that?
