why on earth is this show at nation? they'd be more suited for black cat downstairs.

to add to the bizarreness, the openers for this show will be bayside ("paint-by-the-numbers emo"?) and the oranges band, one of my absolute favorites, who happen to never play in d.c. even though they are from b'more. so now they play in d.c. and it's at fucking nation, on this bill.

AAAarrrrggghhh, I'm with you.  I've been wanting to catch Oranges Band for a while, but not at Nation.  Nope, not at Nation.

i'm torn about going to this bullshit. but i really like their records. kind of a bummer that they arent touring with the original drummer.

I was there recently.  If you carpool, it's not so bad, parking is in a fenced, lighted lot; with attendants. The staff/bartenders are quite cordial.
