I guess that is why there is no kickball in the Olympics. Damn Americans taking names and spellings and changing them.

If my wife reads this thread she may adopt that as one of her repeated phrases, along with "hairy balls".

I think i read that the pitcher for the US softball team is supposed to be hot.
Her name's Jennie Finch.  She's hot in that heavily made-up, sorority girl kinda-way.

no you didn't

and I strongly disagree - both these sports are extremely exciting when played competitively

just because I can run in my back yard does that make the 100 meters boring?

that's what i was going to say.  i caught a little of the ping pong and while i got tired of it after a while, it wasn't that bad.  those asian players are hitting those balls pretty damn hard.  much better than say sailing or shooting as others have mentioned.

These are some of the most popular sports in Asia.  Americans here just don't understand it.
I agree.  I used to make fun of it as well before I was actually taught to play it the right way, like they do in the olympics.  Playing it that way is much better, faster, challenging, and better excercise than even tennis.  I now play from time to time with the PE Teacher (since he taught me) where I teach.  Don't knock it, till you try it.

the size of the ball, the pitching, infield is all dirt instead of grass, and the distance from homeplate to the pitcher's mound is like a third of the distance than baseball.  so the ball seems like it is coming much faster, which leads to less reaction time.  this is why barry bonds pussed out and wouldn't face the US softball pitcher like a lot of other baseball players did.  Most likely he is still just a wimp.
