They are an amazing live band - anyone think they will sell out the 930?

don't know about a sellout, the records great and want to check them out.

i'd post the query in the FAQ section as eddie will have a better idea of how ticket sales are progressing.  but, my suggestion is never wait if you really want to see a show, because it will surely sellout when you least expect it.

I saw them at Bumbershoot. We lasted about 1.5 songs, then beat a hasty retreat. Went and saw French babe Keren Ann, who was much more our thing.

I can think of little better advertisment for a band then the honorable Nakatestes saying he dislikes them.

You own: Norah Jones, Come Away with Me. In retrospect, the ten million Norah Jones fans who bought this weren't wrong, just boring.

Replace it with: Sia, Colour the Small One. She splits the difference between Beck and Beth Orton with stunning slinkiness.

Have never been a Norah Jones fan but I do like Sia.

I heard one of her songs this morning, and think I'll stick with Norah Jones.

Norah Jones vs. Sia? Not even the same genre.

But, but, I'd take Beth Orton over Sia.

the orginial intent of the story was merely to offer a replacement suggestion regardless of the genre of the artists involved

and my point is that samauri charlie all but admits to being boring

They played the 9:30 late last year, in one of those late night shows that follows one of those ridiculously early shows by a band with fans that are older or younger than average.  Anyway, the way I remember it the doors were scheduled to open at 10 with the band going on at 11, but things got off to a MUCH slower start and they didn't actually hit the stage until 11:30 or midnight.  Even with that late of a start, and all the delays, I'd say the club was still about 2/3 full with stage as far forward as it comes.

The concert was excellent, the grooves were tight and the crowd was into it.  The lead singer is incredibly sexy, and was dressed for the evening in a skin-tight flesh-colored leotard, to which she had affixed three black cardboard bars in strategic locations.  Including one attached to glasses that obscured most of her face for the entire show.  One of the definite highlights was when she got the entire crowd to sing along loudly with the chorus, "Pussy pussy pussy marijuana" ... ah, good times.

Definitely worth checking out.  My utterly uniformed opinion is that there's some possibility of a sellout, although probably closer to the show or on the night of if it happens at all.

I'll take Keren Ann or A Girl Called Eddy or Beth Orton or Norah Jones over Sia. I'm certainly not going to take something that I consider mediocre (Sia) just because it's different.

i'd like to apologize to Charlie for the above remarks as they were uncalled for.  it was at the time it was orginially posted something that amused me that should have been kept private and not reposted to make some lame and needless point.  can i buy ya a beer some times?

No problem, Kosmo. Taking shots at my musical taste is fair game, and certainly not over the line. But I'm not one to turn down the offer of a beer!
